Eight years ago (2010), Yvette van Zyl was challenged by a friend’s question and her desire to know more about God. As a result a Home Bible Study group was started, with close friends who came  together to study, pray and worship. 

After a period of about two years, Yvette received the vision for Women in the Word Ministries. A place to meet was provided at Somerset West Baptist Church,  and the opportunity to attend was created for women from all Christian denominations, who were interested to study the Word of God and to learn to know Him more intimately: 

"There are no great women in the world, but only humble women whom God has used to do great deeds. A woman's heart, when humbled, can indeed become a dwelling place for God."
